What whales can you see?
The whale follows the herring into the Nordic waters in the winter. They come here to eat and to play. Killer whales and humpback whales are the types of whales we see most often. Fin whales and sperm whales are other types that often show up.
Whale Guarantee
On 99 out of 100 trips we find and observe whales. If we do not find whales on your trip, we will not refund your ticket. However, we do offer a whale guarantee in the form of a free ticket for one of the following days, if we do not see whales (subject to date/availability ).
Whale watching tours from Tromsø
These are spectacular tours in the Arctic fjords and seas around Tromsø. Most often the tour goes to the area around Skjervøy where the whales often gather. Every day we where the whales are so that we can experience them up close.
6–8 hour tours
The tour lasts from 6 to 8 hours. We do this because whales move around. Some days we need more time to get to where the whales are so you have plenty of time to experience whales up close. We usually spend around 7 hours.
Guidene
Our tours are led by experienced professional guides who will meet you at the dock. Along the way, they will share knowledge and information about whales, their behavior and, not least, guide you where and when to look to get the most spectacular photos.
Dress warmly
In Tromsø in the winter it is often cold. When you are on deck to watch whales, it is often a bit windy as well. Dress warmly, as you would in Tromsø and preferably a little more. We recommend mittens and a hat. Inside the cabin the boat is warm and cozy.

We emphasize gentle travel and respect for the animals. Our tours are conducted in a sustainable manner that ensures both unique experiences and consideration for nature, according to regulations developed by expert authorities.
Seaworthy MS Gabriele
The MS Gabriele is also a larger and more seaworthy boat. This provides better comfort and experience when there are waves. It can go when the waves are bigger which means fewer canceled trips.
Food and drink
The licensed bar on board the boat offers light food such as panini, noodles, hot dogs and snacks, as well as hot and cold drinks.
